Slow Food

The other day we took a trip down to SF for the first annual slow food fest, the supposed largest food fest ever in America.

Slow Food Is Dedicated To:

A food system that is based on the principles of high quality and taste, environmental sustainability, and social justice-in essence, a food system that is good, clean, and fair.

Slow Food seeks to catalyze a broad cultural shift away from the destructive effects of an industrial food system and fast life; toward the regenerative cultural, ecological, social, and economic benefits of a sustainable food system, regional food traditions, the pleasures of the table, and a slower and more harmonious rhythm of life.

I just love the way that sounds.

Memorial

05-11) 16:21 PDT SAN FRANCISCO --18-year-old San Francisco Giants fan, Anthony Giraudo, leaving Friday night's game at AT&T Park died after he was punched in the head during an argument just outside the gates, then fell over and struck his head on the ground, police said Sunday. I've had his picture up on my desktop for the last two weeks as a memorial, I don't really know why, I don't even know the guy but it struck me and it felt so tragic. I'll take his image down today.
